AlashanekYaBalady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD) founded in 2002 by a group of university students who believed that solution to persistent and multi-dimensional poverty is beyond charity work. They believed that sustainably improving livelihoods, socio-economic inclusion, youth engagement and women empowerment shall construct the pillars for community development.
In 2005, , a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered under the same name 6135 , at the Ministry of Social Solidarity for the year 2005, to deliver a lasting impact for underserved communities in the 27 governorates of Egypt, through adopting innovative and continuous improving models, focusing on capacity development and employment creation to secure stable and sufficient incomes, and complemented by social, aid, and relief services to minimize financial burden on underprivileged families.

The association aims to create regional development models with the aim of eradicating poverty and enhancing human dignity. By improving youth capabilities and providing them with opportunities, Which contributes to raising the standard of living for the less fortunate communities.
