“Egypt is filled with wonderful things and it’s up to us to make it grow and flourish and that’s why I started my own business with the support of AYB-SD. I now own a small livestock farm that helped me overcome unemployment.”
Although, farmers’ sons have the required skills to work in agriculture and livestock activities, however due to the rural areas culture and traditions, these activities are perceived as casual work for daily labor, or not sufficient to make an employment out of it unless you own a big land and a lot of money. Mohamed, same as other young people living in the rural villages in Egypt, used lack information and resources to technically and financially run a successful livestock business, however through training, mentoring, and financing he was able to create a small livestock farm out of only 1 cattle he purchased with funding from AYB-SD.
